About the Role

Dr. Haenschen is looking for 1 or 2 undergraduate research assistants to work with her on a project related to analyzing YouTube video content. Survey data from Americans aged 13-17 about their favorite YouTube stars is available, and an undergraduate is needed for content analysis of the videos. This can be traditional content analysis (watch the videos, code them) and/or computational content analysis (scrape the transcripts, analyze them computationally). The goal of this research is to produce an academic journal article about the YouTube stars in the dataset.

About the Company

Dr. Haenschen is an Assistant Professor in the Communication Studies and Political Science departments. Her research focuses on the intersection of digital media and political attitudes and behaviors. The goal of the research that undergraduate students will be involved in is to produce an academic journal article about the YouTube stars in the dataset.
